MATCH YOUR WALL LIGHTS

Keep fixture collections consistent when choosing a post light. Try to match the outdoor post light to the wall light.

FIND THE RIGHT POST LIGHT

Try to match the color of the post to the fixture. The standard height of a post including the lamp is 7 to 8 feet. Posts come as both direct burial and anchor based. A direct burial post is approximately 7 feet in length and is buried 1.5 feet in ground for stability. Anchor based posts are mounted by special bolts in concrete which secure the post. Anchor based posts tend to be more decorative and have many styles, however direct burial posts tend to be easier to install.

SIZING FOR A PIER

When mounting a fixture to a pier, a fixture is usually attached to a separate pier base. These bases vary in style and size. When deciding on the size of the fixture it should be no less than half the width of the pier top and be approximately 1/3 the height of the pier. We strongly suggest that you place an item on top of the pier to give yourself a sense of proportion such as a balloon or box. This will help you in making that final decision as to the appropriate scale.
